Everyone has a creative side. It is a part of being alive – the ability to adapt, solve problems, empathize – but for me it is more than a survival technique.

Artistic creation is a way of life

Like a mischievous faun dancing about playing a flute, the desire to create is ever present; taunting me to chase the newest project or expound on a nagging idea. Often when I grasp at the faun it slips through my fingers. Other times I catch it, only to have it wriggle and squirm until my idea twists into something unpleasant.

But every so often, I am led to a place of wonder and awe.

So dance and paint and sing and write and stitch with the faun! Creativity may cause mischief in your life and may even break your heart, but if the faun calls to you, take the chance and follow it into the unknown. There’s no telling what awaits.
